The Process
Basic Procedure
1. Homeowner/Client will sign an agreement with our firm and leave a deposit payment before any work will commence.
2. A scheduled field measurement on the subject property – To include exterior and/or exterior photography.
3. A search of property records will be done at the Building Department, to verify zoning, and all existing structures have certificates of occupancy.
4. Preliminary Building plans.
5. Modifications will be done to plans, at client’s request.
6. Balance due inorder to finalize drawings.
7. Finalization of building plans: Building plans are ready for application submittal.
8. Our firm will fill out and file with the applicable building department all required building permit applications.
9. Expedite permit applications to conclusion.
ADDITIONAL FEES:
If our firm is obtaining a maintain permit for an existing structure the following will be done at homeowners/executors expense if applicable:
• Electrical Fire Underwriters Certificate
• Plumbing Permit
• Updated Survey
• Any work, needed to be performed by a licensed trades person to make an existing structures comply with applicable town codes.
What we may need or require from the homeowner:
• Updated or Original Survey
• Copy of recent Tax Bill
• U/L certificate
• Plumbing Permit
• Letter of Hardship if applicable
We also offer the services of the following:
• Expediting
(Submitting building permit application to appropriate building department and following up until permit are in-hand)
• Searches
• Re-opening expired building permits and Closing Permits
• Variances (Representing the homeowner at hearing and mail outs)
• Radius Maps
